How to price and list your cuts online

By Dhan Phagoo · Updated

Start with what people actually book

Most shops can cover nearly every customer with this list:

| Service | How to show the price | | --- | --- | | Men's haircut | Fixed price | | Haircut and beard | Fixed price | | Beard trim | Fixed price | | Hot towel shave | Fixed price | | Kids cut | Fixed price, with the age limit | | Design or part | Add-on price | | Senior cut | Fixed price, if you offer it |

Use customers' words

Write "Haircut and beard," not a menu name only your shop understands. If a service has a special name, add a few plain words under it.

Starting prices are fine

If length or style changes the price, show "from" with a starting number. A range beats no price at all.

Keep online and in-shop prices the same

Nothing loses trust faster than a higher price at the chair than on the website. When you raise prices, update the site the same day.

Add the time

Listing how long each service takes helps customers plan and helps you keep the schedule realistic.

Where to put it

Place your price list right under your book button. On a phone, customers should reach it with one short scroll.

The bottom line

A short, honest price list in plain words gets more bookings than a long menu or no prices at all.

Frequently asked questions

Should every barber in the shop have different prices?
If they do, show it simply, for example a standard and a senior barber price. Otherwise keep one list.
Is it OK to show 'from' prices?
Yes. A starting price is much better than leaving the price off.
How often should I update my price list?
Every time a price changes, the same day.
